Baalmanch

Our Story

"Parishkrati" is not merely an organization; it is far more than a collective of diverse artisans and practitioners working for and within theatre. It is truly a path of refinement and subtlety that moves toward the social, cultural, and moral uplifting of society through theatre.

It all began nearly 38 years ago with the establishment of 'Baalmanch', an organization wholeheartedly dedicated to the welfare of children through art and culture. Baalmanch revolutionized the portrayal and dimensions of children's theatre in Central India with an innovative approach featuring theatre workshops specially developed around child psychology, environmental journeys (Paryavaran Yatra), and extensive environmental campaigns promoting tree plantation through street plays.

After nearly 10 years of continuous work, a new wing was initiated by the teenage members of the group, starting initially with a few classroom productions. Informally named 'Rangotsav' in the beginning and later 'Rangbharti' over a period of about 15 years, the troupe earned opportunities to present remarkable performances at prestigious national and international theatre festivals—such as Bharat Rang Mahotsav organized by NSD Delhi, South Eastern Cultural Festival in Visakhapatnam, and Adividrohi Natya Samaroh in Bhopal.
